GLASS TO GLASS

On the occasion of the 17th edition of the Venice Biennale of Architecture, Fondazione Berengo and WonderGlass are pleased to unveil GLASS to GLASS, an exhibition in which the world of contemporary art and the world of cutting-edge design meet through the medium of glass.

A selection of works conceived by internationally acclaimed contemporary artists and designers in collaboration with the glass artisans of Murano are presented at the Fondazione Berengo Art Space in Murano and the Berengo Collection in Venice. The two locations, a traditional glass furnace and an antique pharmacy, act as the perfect historical backdrop to showcase a dynamic vision for the future of glass.

As Berengo Studio and WonderGlass come together for this exhibition they affirm their affinities as two leading visionaries in the world of glass, revitalising the possibilities of this ancient material and the reputation of the lagoon island which has fostered its traditions for so long. Through this unique enterprise a survey of shape shifting identities works to highlight the endless possibilities of progressive art and design in glass, and the fluid ways in which they both eternally inform and inspire one another to constantly renew the medium and assert its indisputable value.
